Island in the Sun hacks up second time out

ISLAND IN THE SUN is a 3 year old filly by ALADO out of an AL MUFTI mare bred by The Alado Project (Nom: Mr David Allan) and now in the hands of trainer Cliffie Miller and his client Mr Liebenberg.

Foaled and raised at Hemel 'n Aarde Stud, the main base of The Alado Project and the home of the stallion himself, she has a yearling full sister on the farm.

In her second outing today at Flamingo Park ISLAND IN THE SUN absolutely hacked up, not really coming out of a canter and leading all the way.  Jockey Andrew Fortune had very little to do but has declared that he wants to ride her again and again!

ISLAND IN THE SUN now joins a group of current runners by ALADO doing well. DOMINA has won two of her last three starts and her full sister ADORADA nearly won first time out, both with trainer Vaughan Marshall and running in the Project colours. Vaughan also has HALF MOON HOTEL in his own colours, a four times winner (black type placed) now on a more helpful handicap mark having been held up in the mid 90s for a long time.

Meanwhile Duncan Howells has BALTIC AMBER bred in the Project and sold as a yearling who has won twice and a very late foal is being brought along steadily, winning twice so far on the way.

All the above named progeny of ALADO were foaled and raised at Hemel 'n Aarde.  The current crop of yearlings is very impressive and we are looking forward to taking them to market.
